El Salvador buys another 12 Bitcoin for country’s reserve despite IMF deal

El Salvador has acquired an additional 12 Bitcoin, increasing its total holdings to 6,044 BTC. This latest purchase cost over 1 million USD, despite the IMF deal requiring adjustments to the country’s Bitcoin approach.

Surveys reveal that a significant majority, 92% of Salvadorans, do not use Bitcoin for transactions. The government’s policies regarding Bitcoin acceptance have shifted, but its stockpile continues to grow.
