Blockchain sleuth ZachXBT uncovers 29 million USD SUI token exploit

ZachXBT reported that $29 million in SUI tokens were stolen via a hack on December 12, 2024. Attackers used bridging tools to move 6.27 million SUI tokens from the Sui blockchain to Ethereum and laundered them through Tornado Cash.

The incident raises alarms about security vulnerabilities within the expanding Sui network, launched in 2023, which recently reached a market capitalization of $12 billion and over 50 million accounts. This growth has made it a target for cybercriminals.
