Brazil’s data protection authority, ANPD, has prohibited World Network from offering cryptocurrency for iris scans effectively from January 25, citing user consent issues.
The ANPD’s decision is rooted in worries that financial incentives might impair informed consent and emphasizes the permanence of biometric data collection.
Following the ban, the WLF token dropped over 8% in value, a notable downturn indicating immediate market repercussions since its launch in July 2023.
