Fed’s Jefferson says the Fed can take time on the next interest rate decision

Philip Jefferson, the Fed’s Vice Chairman, highlighted that the robust economy allows the Federal Reserve to carefully consider any future changes to interest rates, currently set between 4.25% and 4.5%.

While overall household balance sheets appear strong, Jefferson warned that some lower-credit households may struggle with unexpected financial challenges amid ongoing economic uncertainties.
