Fed’s Goolsbee sees lower interest rates in a year’s time, but warns of uncertainties, FT reports

Austan Goolsbee predicts that interest rates could be notably lower within 12-18 months. He emphasizes the need for caution due to economic uncertainties that may affect timing.

Currently, the Fed’s interest rate stands between 4.25% and 4.50%. Goolsbee notes that any signs of rising inflation could prompt a reevaluation of the Fed’s approach to monetary policy.
