Trump becomes first president to sign crypto bill into law, ending anti-DeFi IRS rule

President Donald Trump officially signed a bill that marks the end of the anti-DeFi IRS regulation. This significant legislation is the first crypto bill to be signed into law by a U.S. President, paving the way for a more favorable environment for decentralized finance.

The repeal of the DeFi broker rule received strong bipartisan backing in Congress. Republican Congressman Mike Carey highlighted that the repeal allows the IRS to concentrate on its primary obligations to American taxpayers, while industry leaders believe it will foster innovation.

Crypto experts, including Amanda Tuminelli from the DeFi Education Fund, hailed this legislative move as an essential step towards a progressive and sensible regulatory approach to digital assets in the U.S., indicating a positive shift in the regulatory landscape.
