On April 1, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the temporary anti-dumping tax on certain galvanized steel products from China and South Korea, following a request from five major domestic steel companies. The tax rates vary for each manufacturer: Chinese products can be taxed up to 37.13%, while South Korean products face a maximum of 15.67%. The decision takes effect 15 days after issuance and lasts for 120 days. Affected products include coated steel, flat-rolled carbon steel, with a carbon content of less than 0.60%. Baosteel Zhanjiang from China faces a 37.13% tax, while Hyundai Steel from South Korea is taxed at 13.7%. Some companies, like Boxing Hengrui and Yieh Phui from China, as well as POSCO from South Korea, are exempt from tax. Previously, Vietnam also imposed anti-dumping duties on HRC steel from China.
