The shadow of Nguyen Kim behind the group of 3 shareholders holding over 16% of Saigonbank’s charter capital

On March 19, Saigon Commercial Bank (Saigonbank) announced information about shareholders owning from 1% of its charter capital, including the Ho Chi Minh City Party Office and three affiliated enterprises holding over 65% of capital. Another significant shareholder is Phat Dai Cat JSC, which holds 9.89% of the capital. Phat Dai Cat recently increased its stake through the purchase of 16.75 million SGB shares worth 201 billion VND. Established in January 2022, Phat Dai Cat is located in L’MAK The Heritage building, which also hosts several companies from the Nguyen Kim ecosystem, including Nguyen Kim Investment and Development JSC. The Chairman of Phat Dai Cat’s Board is Le Huynh Gia Hoang, who also represents many enterprises in the Nguyen Kim group. Nguyen Kim was established in 2007 and sold a large part of its shares to Central Group in 2015.
