Director of a listed company with revenue of several trillion resigns due to high blood pressure

On March 3, Mr. Pham The Trong Toan, a member of the Board of Directors and Director of Vinacomin Waterway Transport Joint Stock Company (WTC), submitted his resignation letter, citing health issues, specifically high blood pressure. He expressed concern that his health might impact his work. The Board accepted his resignation on March 6 and appointed Nguyen Thanh Cong, the Deputy Director, as the new Director. Mr. Toan, born in 1977, has been the Director since October 2022 and remains a member of the Board. He owns 7.2% of WTC, worth approximately 8.4 billion VND. The company specializes in waterway freight transport, with revenue of 1.092 trillion VND in 2023, down 66% from last year, and a net profit of over 16 billion VND, falling 61%.
