Bamboo Capital Stocks Plunge After News of Nguyễn Hồ Nam’s Indictment

Following the indictment of Nguyễn Hồ Nam, former Chairman of Bamboo Capital, stocks BCG and its subsidiaries BCR, BGE, TCD experienced a sharp decline, resulting in significant sell-offs. Over 71 million shares of BCG were unsold at the floor price. Bamboo Capital emphasized its operations would continue as usual despite Nam’s resignation in April 2024. On March 1, BCG Land announced the indictment of several executives, affecting its subsidiaries. Related stocks also saw significant drops in the March 3 trading session, including those of banks like CTG and NAB. Additionally, trading of bonds for BCG Land and Helios was suspended at the request of regulatory authorities. Bamboo Capital holds a 62% stake in BCG Land, while Helios, which used to be a major shareholder, reduced its stake below 5% in 2023.
