Over 140 trillion VND for 7 state-owned enterprises to raise charter capital, boosting ‘super projects’

State-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Vietnam are planning to raise approximately 140 trillion VND in charter capital to promote ‘super projects’ and meet the requirements to participate in international tenders. By 2025, SOEs aim for an economic growth of at least 8%. With plans to increase capital, companies like Becamex IDC and Vietnam Expressway Development Corporation (VEC) are making significant moves such as public share auctions and capital increases. Vietnam Airlines, BSR, Petrolimex, TKV, and ACV also plan to raise capital to recover financially post-Covid-19 and invest in key projects. For instance, ACV is developing the Long Thanh International Airport project with a total investment of 110 trillion VND. A draft Law on State Capital Management and Investment in Enterprises is being developed to enhance capital management efficiency and transparency for SOEs.
