HPG Shares Rise Nearly 20% from the Bottom, Hoa Phat Reports Q1 Steel Consumption Up 29% to 2.38 Million Tons

In Q1 2025, Hoa Phat Group produced 2.66 million tons of crude steel, up 25% year-on-year. Steel sales reached 2.38 million tons, a 29% increase, thanks to favorable weather and enhanced public investment. Hot-rolled steel accounted for 993,000 tons, a 23% rise. Construction and high-quality steel products reached 1.19 million tons, up 25%. Hoa Phat supplied 198,000 tons of billets, more than double last year. The group is focusing on high-quality steel production, including tire and prestressed steel. Exports showed a decline in coated steel, down 9% to 89,000 tons, while pipe steel surged 42% to 185,000 tons. The Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 steel complex project is on schedule. HPG shares rose consecutively, marking a 19% increase from the bottom, reaching 25,350 VND.
