Vingroup Announces Official Groundbreaking Date for Sea Reclamation Project in Can Gio

Vingroup plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the sea reclamation urban tourism project in Can Gio on April 19, 2025. This project was approved by the HCMC government in March and will span 2,870 hectares with a 50-year duration. The urban area will comprise sections A, B, C, and D-E, accommodating about 230,000 residents and attracting 8-9 million tourists annually. Section A is 950 hectares adjacent to the East Sea, featuring an ecological residential area; Section B spans 660 hectares for resort tourism; Section C covers 318 hectares as a financial and commercial center; and Section D is 480 hectares for high-end commercial and resort purposes. Section E serves green spaces and water areas. Vingroup also proposed a high-speed rail connection between HCMC and Can Gio, alongside a $4.5 billion wind power project in the Mekong Delta.
