The Kuwait Ministry of Interior has reiterated that crypto mining activities are both illegal and unlicensed, citing violations of multiple laws including the Industry Law and Penal Code.
The Ministry emphasized that illegal mining contributes to higher electricity demand, potentially leading to outages that threaten public safety. Joint efforts among government ministries are underway to tackle this issue.
In addition to mining, crypto trading and payments are also illegal in Kuwait. The Central Bank has prohibited all forms of cryptocurrency transactions, urging consumers to be aware of associated risks.
