Sacombank (STB) has unveiled plans to invest in or acquire a securities company to boost income and competitiveness as investment banking gains prominence. They aim to hold over 50% of the securities company’s equity with a maximum investment of 1,500 billion VND. Sacombank is currently the largest shareholder in CTCP Securities SBS, holding nearly 13.8% of shares. SBS, formerly known as Saigon Thuong Tin Banking Securities Company, has undergone several capital increases and currently has a charter capital of around 1,500 billion VND. SBS’s 2025 Annual General Meeting will be held on April 28, with projected revenue declining by 4-20%, yet profit prospects are expected to improve compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, unusual growth was noted as SBS shares surged to the ceiling price on April 22, despite a downtrend in the broader market. STB shares also exhibited notable fluctuations, closing with a slight increase.
