Dankrad Feist’s plan could elevate Ethereum’s gas limit from 36 million to 3.6 billion, facilitating approximately 6,000 transactions to fit into blocks, thus boosting Ethereum’s competitiveness against other blockchains.
The gas limit will grow tenfold in the first two years, followed by another tenfold increase, aligned with hardware advancements and Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP-9698) guidelines.
This proposal marks a significant shift towards expanding Ethereum’s foundational scalability after years of focus on layer 2 solutions, aiming to create a more interoperable ecosystem.
