A16z Crypto spearheaded a funding round that raised 25 million USD for Miden, aiming to scale edge execution and drive institutional blockchain adoption. Miden focuses on providing confidentiality in handling transactions.
Miden utilizes zero-knowledge proofs to ensure high scalability and privacy for both public and private transactions. The co-founder, Bobbin Threadbare, highlighted the benefit of executing transactions on edge devices for overcoming traditional scalability challenges.
The project is set to launch its mainnet in Q4 2025 and aims to rival existing blockchains like Solana and Sui. Polygon Labs’ Sandeep Nailwal described Miden as the future of blockchains, emphasizing its unique edge execution capabilities.
