Kido Group (KDC) announced its Q1 2025 financial report, showing a revenue of 2.146 trillion VND, an 18% increase compared to Q1 2024. However, rising costs, particularly in sales and management, led to a pre-tax loss of nearly 47 billion VND and a net loss of over 75 billion VND. For 2025, Kido aims for revenues of 13 trillion VND and a profit of 800 billion VND.
Kido is also embroiled in a trademark dispute over its Celano and Merino ice cream brands with Nutifood. After selling 24% of its stake in Kido Foods in 2023, Kido lost control of the company, which Nutifood has since acquired a 51% stake in. Despite this, Kido claims ownership of the Celano and Merino brands. A recent extraordinary general meeting overwhelmingly rejected the transaction, with 91.3% of shareholders opposing it. Kido Foods has provisionally deposited 50 billion VND in an escrow account, and the court has lifted a temporary ban on using the Celano brand.
