Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance, has confirmed that his legal team has filed a request for a presidential pardon in the US. This action comes after earlier denials regarding negotiations with Donald Trump’s family.
Zhao expressed strong concerns about the influence of memecoins in the crypto market, stating that although many fail, they distract from valuable utility projects. He highlighted that with recent SEC deregulation, the market could see a return of foundational projects.
Remarkably, Zhao acknowledges never having spoken to Trump but praises his administration for supporting crypto initiatives. He believes the industry’s fortunes could change under pro-crypto leadership, while Binance.US continues to operate without immediate plans for expansion.
