The ViMariel Industrial Park, invested by Vietnam’s Viglacera Corporation, is Cuba’s first economic zone for 100% foreign-owned enterprises. Launched in 2018 with a 50-year timeline, the project has enabled Cuba to produce a variety of essential goods, significantly reducing import costs. ViMariel also creates jobs for Cuban workers and serves as a trade bridge between Vietnam and Latin American nations. Due to its strategic location and convenient transport system, this industrial park easily connects to major ports and airports, aiding investors in production and trade. In September 2024, General Secretary To Lam and Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel visited the park, reaffirming mutual support for economic development.
