SEC considers new rules easing security token issuance

The SEC’s proposed rule changes aim to exempt companies from certain registration requirements. This shift could allow decentralized exchanges to operate without registering as broker-dealers, fostering innovation in tokenized securities.

Despite the proposed exemptions, companies will still need to comply with regulations to prevent fraud and may need to fulfill disclosure obligations. The SEC’s adaptive approach aims to align regulations with evolving blockchain technologies.
