Jan3 CEO Samson Mow: ‘Maybe it’s time for another fork of Bitcoin’

Samson Mow suggested forking Bitcoin Core in response to OP_RETURN policy changes, aiming to rectify misaligned incentives. He proposed creating a better funding structure for developers, helping them maintain and evolve the software.

Mow expressed disappointment with Bitcoin Core’s handling of non-monetary data on the blockchain. As the controversy evolves, alternative software, like Knots, has gained traction, with nearly 1,868 out of 21,767 public nodes using it.
