MAG-7 in Vietnam’s stock market includes four banks (Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, Techcombank) and three stocks from Vingroup (Vingroup, Vinhomes, Vinpearl). The total market capitalization reaches nearly 1.9 trillion VND, accounting for 1/3 of the HoSE, significantly influencing the VN-Index. The banking and real estate sectors make up around 60% of the market cap. Meanwhile, emerging sectors like technology and healthcare lack significant representation, contrasting with the U.S. stock market. It is forecasted that by 2027-2028, the market will welcome many large IPOs, such as TCBS and F88. Vietnam’s economy is focusing on sustainable development in technology and private sector growth to avoid the middle-income trap and aim for a developed nation by 2045.
