Bitcoin on track to hit 500,000 USD as government entities increase MSTR holdings: Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered’s analysts foresee Bitcoin prices reaching 200,000 USD in 2025, followed by 300,000 USD in 2026, then 400,000 USD in 2027, and finally reaching 500,000 USD in 2028.

There is a notable increase in government entities’ investments in MSTR, with a total of 31,000 Bitcoin acquired in Q1 2025, fueling the demand for BTC amid regulatory barriers to direct holdings.

MicroStrategy maintains substantial Bitcoin holdings of approximately 576,000 BTC, serving as a proxy for institutions to gain indirect exposure to Bitcoin.
