US tourist says Bitcoin, XRP worth 123,000 USD stolen after ride with fake Uber in London

Jacob Irwin-Cline was abducted in London by a fake Uber driver after leaving a nightclub. The driver sedated him using a drugged cigarette and accessed his cryptocurrency accounts.

Irwin-Cline lost approximately 72,000 USD in XRP and 50,000 USD in Bitcoin. The attackers were able to log into his digital wallet after receiving his phone’s passcode during the incident.

This event underscores a troubling trend of physical violence against cryptocurrency holders, sparking concerns among investors on the safety of their digital assets.
