DOJ targets crypto-theft network with seizure of data-stealing domains

On May 21, the U.S. Department of Justice announced the seizure of five domains tied to LummaC2 malware, aiming to hinder cybercrime targeting sensitive cryptocurrency information.

Matthew R. Galeotti stated this malware enables the theft of sensitive data, including cryptocurrency credentials, significantly impacting millions of victims.

The FBI reported over 1.7 million uses of LummaC2 for data harvesting, while Microsoft disrupted an additional 2,300 domains related to LummaC2.
