Ethereum’s share of the total value locked in DeFi has dropped from over 56% in 2024 to 51.24% in May 2025, amounting to a 37% decrease since early 2021.
As the DeFi ecosystem matures, blockchain competitors like Solana and Bitcoin are gaining traction, with Solana capturing 7.99% and Bitcoin at 5.67% of the total value locked.
