Increased bandwidth, reduced latency: Solana proposes new consensus protocol

Solana has launched Alpenglow, a consensus protocol designed to significantly improve network performance, achieving lower latency akin to Web2 levels.

The protocol will replace older components to ensure faster performance and will be reviewed through a Solana Improvement Document proposal scheduled for later this year.
