North Korea’s Lazarus Group orchestrated a cyberattack on May 24, stealing more than 5.2 million USD from a crypto trader. The funds, diverted from various wallet types, were laundered using Tornado Cash, indicating a shift toward targeting individual traders.
The theft underscores a pattern in North Korea’s cybercriminal operations, which aim to finance state initiatives, including weapons development. The group is also notorious for a previous 1.5 billion USD hack of Bybit, showcasing their extensive cyber capabilities.
