In May 2023, four dormant Bitcoin wallets from 2011 activated, transferring 221.99 BTC, valued at over 23 million USD. This marked their first movement in nearly 14 years, showcasing growing activity among early Bitcoin wallets.
During the transfers, Bitcoin’s price fluctuated between 107,107 USD and 109,057 USD. The original value of the 221.99 BTC was approximately 2,586 USD, representing an astonishing gain of around 889,325%.
This month alone, a total of 262.663 BTC from 2011 wallets has been moved, indicating a renewed interest in early-era Bitcoin wallets. Such movements reflect broader market trends and investor interest.
