Meta signs 20-year nuclear energy deal to power AI

Meta has signed a 20-year agreement with Constellation to procure 1.1 gigawatts of energy from the Clinton Clean Energy Center in Illinois for its AI operations starting in 2027.

This partnership supports AI’s growing energy needs, projecting a doubling of power demands by 2030, while safeguarding over 1,100 jobs and generating 13.5 million USD in annual tax revenue.

Meta plans to further enhance its energy sustainability by searching for additional nuclear energy providers to meet its ambitious requirements for AI development.
