Vietnam Airlines and China Southern Airlines are collaborating to create the first joint venture between a Vietnamese and a Chinese airline, set to take effect on August 1, 2025. This joint venture aims to provide a wide network for passengers connecting between the two countries, including through-check-in services for up to three flights. Both parties are committed to offering the best benefits for loyalty program members, such as priority check-in and increased baggage allowances. Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung from Vietnam Airlines emphasized the importance of this partnership in enhancing connectivity and promoting economic and cultural development between the two nations. Mr. Zhang Dongsheng from China Southern Airlines stated that this is a significant step in their internationalization strategy. The two airlines have cooperated since 2010 and signed a Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement in 2022 to expand their collaboration.
