On August 1, 2025, Optimism will revamp its governance model. The new system will introduce stakeholder voting and an auto-pass process for proposals unless vetoed by a stakeholder, enhancing governance decentralization.
The citizenship aspect of governance is now in an experimental stage, allowing public verification. The aim is to ensure representation from various stakeholder groups, including tokenholders, end-users, applications, and chains.
