Vietcap Suspended from Custody Operations

The Vietnam Securities Depository & Clearing Corporation (VSDC) has recently decided to suspend the custody operations of Vietcap Securities Corporation (VCI) from June 18 to June 20, 2025. The reason for this decision is due to Vietcap’s repeated violations of clearing and settlement regulations, which resulted in VSDC issuing two reprimands in June 2025. Specifically, the company had nine corrections on HoSE and six on HNX in May. The suspension includes halting the acceptance of securities deposits, freezing securities, and transferring custodial securities outside the transaction system, except for cases required by competent authorities. This is not the first time Vietcap has faced penalties, having been reprimanded in December 2022 and January 2025 for similar violations. On June 17, VSDC also reprimanded VNDirect Securities Corporation (VND) for making seven corrections after transactions in May.
