In 2024, companies owned by 6 Vietnamese billionaires contributed over 112 trillion VND to the state budget, surpassing the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN). Prominent billionaires include Pham Nhat Vuong (Vingroup), Tran Ba Duong (THACO), Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao (Vietjet Air & HDBank), Tran Dinh Long (Hoa Phat), Ho Hung Anh (Techcombank), and Nguyen Dang Quang (Masan Group). Vingroup topped the list with over 56 trillion VND, an 82% increase from the previous year. THACO contributed 23.7 trillion, Hoa Phat 13.4 trillion, Techcombank nearly 6.8 trillion, and Masan Group over 4.8 trillion. HDBank and Vietjet also saw substantial contributions. The PRIVATE 100 and VNTAX 200 rankings will be announced for the first time, recognizing the significant contributions of these large companies to Vietnam’s budget.
