Tether’s USDT is narrowing the transaction gap with USDC on BitPay, increasing its share to 43% by May 2025, while USDC’s share fell to 56%. This shift reflects growing preference for USDT despite USDC being compliant with MiCA regulations.
USDC’s market cap grew from 33 billion USD to 61.7 billion USD in one year, marking an 88% increase. Contrastingly, Tether’s USDT has resisted regulatory compliance, highlighting a difference in strategic approaches between Tether and Circle.
