The US Justice Department is probing a former employee of DigitalMint for allegedly taking a portion of crypto ransom payments. Marc Grens, President of DigitalMint, confirmed the employee’s termination as soon as the allegations arose.
Recent reports show a significant decline in ransomware payments, with only 25% of affected companies complying in late 2024, down from 85% in early 2019. This trend may reflect improved cybersecurity efforts and stricter regulations discouraging ransom payments.
