Polygon’s ‘most complex’ hard fork goes live on July 10

The Polygon Foundation is set to implement Heimdall 2.0 on July 10, representing the most intricate hard fork since 2018. CEO Sandeep Nailwal highlights its significance for improving network performance.

The upgrade enhances the blockchain’s finality to approximately five seconds, facilitating stability and security. It aims to replace outdated components for a more robust consensus layer.

Nailwal emphasizes the urgency for node operators to be ready for potential temporary instabilities. Most validators have upgraded, yet those on older versions need to act promptly to ensure a seamless transition.
