Aplus cardholders in Japan can now convert their points into cryptocurrency options including XRP, Bitcoin, and Ether. This feature will begin on July 21, 2025, making Aplus the first major rewards program to offer direct crypto redemptions.
Users can redeem 2,100 Aplus points for approximately 2,000 yen worth of crypto, which is about 13-15 USD, making it a convenient option for novice users to enter the crypto market without upfront cash investment.
While technical knowledge is not required, users must adhere to Japan’s cryptocurrency regulations, including potential tax implications on earnings, raising questions about monthly redemption limits and user engagement.
