Fix incoming for MetaMask bug that’s slowly killing solid-state drives

ConsenSys has confirmed it will release a fix for a bug in the MetaMask extension that causes unusually high disk activity, leading to premature SSD wear. Reports indicate users have experienced data writing at extreme rates, which goes unnoticed by many.

The issue was first reported by a user on June 24 but dates back further, raising concerns about user awareness. A resolution is imminent, with the company exploring ways to reduce both data size and frequency of writes.
