As of December 31, 2024, Vietnam’s stock market recorded 50 companies with a market capitalization of over 1 billion USD, totaling over 5 trillion VND. By July 21, 2025, nine new companies joined the billion-dollar club thanks to significant stock price increases, notably Gelex Electric (GEE) with a 316% increase and Gelex Holdings (GEX) with a 144% increase. Other companies include KSV, NVL, VCI, VIX, VND, and KBC with notable growth. GEE reached a billion-dollar market cap on April 18, while GEX also achieved this on May 8, maintaining a positive trend. Notably, VIX has risen to become the second-largest securities firm in the market with a market cap of 29.6 trillion VND, surpassing Vietcap and VNDIRECT. Novaland (NVL) also returned to the billion-dollar club after a 62% increase year-to-date, spurred by addressing legal issues. The company is holding a general meeting to discuss plans for issuing stock to swap debt.
