At the end of 2024, the Vietnamese stock market had 50 companies with a market capitalization of over 1 billion USD, totaling over 5 million billion VND. However, by mid-2025, several companies dropped off this list, while 9 new ones emerged due to impressive stock price increases. Notably, Gelex Electric (GEE) increased by 316% and Gelex Holdings (GEX) by 144%. Other firms such as KSV, NVL, VCI, VIX, VND, and KBC also recorded significant growth. VIX has risen to become the second-largest securities company in the market, after SSI. Novaland (NVL), after a rough patch, returned to the billion-dollar list with a 62% increase. The company plans to hold an extraordinary general meeting to discuss issuing shares to restructure debt. Overall, the market’s recovery is anticipated positively, thanks to many companies striving to restructure.
