As of December 31, 2024, Vietnam’s stock market had 50 companies with a market capitalization over $1 billion, totaling over 5 trillion VND. However, by July 21, 2025, some companies like FRT and GMD exited the billion-dollar club, while 9 new names emerged due to impressive stock price increases. These include GEE (up 316%), GEX (144%), KSV (63%), NVL (62%), VCI (23%), VIX (106%), VND (44%), and KBC (28%). Both GELEX (GEX) and GEE maintained their billion-dollar status, with GEE and VIX ranking second in the securities sector, surpassing VCI and VND. Novaland (NVL) also regained its billion-dollar market cap due to regulatory support in resolving legal issues. The company plans to hold an extraordinary general meeting on August 7, 2025, to discuss debt restructuring and potential share issuance to improve financial stability.
