The Polish parliament is currently discussing a draft bill that could regulate cryptocurrency investments in line with EU’s MiCA regulations. The Deputy Finance Minister highlighted that 20% of crypto investors reported falling victim to fraud, emphasizing the need for protective regulations.
Opposition lawmakers expressed worried that the proposed regulations might harm the local crypto industry. They argued that the proposed 0.5% fee on local crypto exchanges would hinder competitiveness against foreign platforms, potentially driving businesses out of Poland.
