Kirk West, 58, was arrested for stealing over 11 million USD in cryptocurrency and 400,000 USD in cash from Nancy Jones. He was caught at Nashville International Airport attempting to escape with the assets.
Nancy Jones discovered the theft after two safes containing 5.5 million XRP went missing from her home. Although some XRP were recovered, nearly half of the tokens are still unaccounted for.
West has a prior conviction for federal bank fraud in 2016. He influenced Nancy to invest in digital assets, leading to significant financial losses. He now faces serious theft charges and a court appearance on October 23.
