Livestock Companies Make Huge Profits Despite African Swine Fever

Dabaco Vietnam Group (DBC) reported over 3.8 trillion VND in revenue for Q2, a 20% increase year-over-year, with a net profit of 507 billion VND, 3.5 times higher than last year. In the first six months, DBC reached a total revenue of 7.4 trillion VND and a net profit exceeding 1 trillion VND. Similarly, BAF Vietnam Agriculture Company (BAF) achieved nearly 1.4 trillion VND in revenue for Q2 and a net profit of 195 billion VND, up 5.6 times. In the first half of the year, BAF sold about 330,000 pigs, earning a net profit of 327 billion VND. Both companies have thrived despite the ongoing African Swine Fever, proving their significant growth through reduced breeding costs and increased production. Notably, Masan also saw its profits nearly double, driven by a 66% increase in livestock revenue. Despite the rampant swine fever epidemic, major players in the industry have achieved high profits due to effective business strategies.
