Fed governor Kugler to step down on August 8, giving Trump chance to name replacement

Adriana Kugler is resigning from her position on the Federal Reserve Board on August 8, 2025, to return to her academic role at Georgetown University.

Her resignation creates a critical vacancy, allowing President Trump to nominate a replacement, especially as he pressures the Fed for lower interest rates, challenging Chair Jerome Powell.
