In the first half of 2025, many companies recorded significant profit declines compared to the same period last year, with some even approaching 100% drop. Vinaship (VNA) and Nhà Từ Liêm (NTL) top the list, with pre-tax profits dropping sharply; VNA from 35 billion to 400 million VND, and NTL from 844 billion to 12 billion VND. Key reasons include unfavorable market conditions, unstable supply sources, and legal barriers in project implementation. Construction firms like Hòa Bình (HBC) also faced a 93% profit drop, down to 57 billion VND. The securities sector was among the hardest-hit, with four firms such as VDSC and Trí Việt Securities reporting profit decreases between 77% and 97%. Additionally, major companies reported substantial losses, including NSH Petro (332 billion VND), Novaland (261 billion VND), and Cảng Phước An (248 billion VND). This situation highlights the economic difficulties many sectors are facing in the first half of the year.
