Many companies report near-zero profits compared to the same period in 2025

In the first six months of 2025, many companies reported significant profit declines compared to the same period in 2024, with some nearing a 100% decrease. Vinaship (VNA) and Nha Tu Liem (NTL) topped the list, with VNA falling from 35 billion VND to 400 million VND, and NTL from 844 billion VND to 12 billion VND. The main reasons include adverse market impacts and unstable supply chains. Hòa Bình (HBC) also recorded a profit of 57 billion VND, down 93% from the previous year. The securities industry saw several companies struggling, with VDSC down 97% and Trí Việt Securities down 94%. Numerous firms in sectors such as tire manufacturing, investment, food & beverage, and media were also affected. In addition to profit declines, several businesses reported significant losses, with NSH Petro losing 332 billion VND, Novaland 261 billion VND, and Cảng Phước An 248 billion VND.
