A Series of Businesses Report ‘Wiped Out’ Profits Compared to Last Year in 6M2025

In the first half of 2025, numerous businesses experienced significant profit declines compared to the same period last year, with some nearly reaching zero profits. Vinaship (VNA) and Nhà Từ Liêm (NTL) are among those heavily affected, with pre-tax profits dropping nearly 100%. Specifically, VNA’s profit fell from 35 billion VND to just 400 million VND, while NTL’s dropped from 844 billion VND to 12 billion VND due to lacking qualifying projects. Hòa Bình (HBC) also reported a 93% profit decrease to 57 billion VND. The securities industry saw several companies with steep declines like VDSC (down 97%) and Trí Việt (down 94%). Moreover, many businesses reported losses, including NSH Petro with a loss of 332 billion VND and Novaland with a loss of 261 billion VND. The challenging business situation raises concern across various sectors.
